Pretty good turnout today. I forgot to take a photo again, it is becoming a habit.

A big thank you to Eagleby Neighbourhood Centre for having us. NDIS provider collaboration on the Gold Coast needs a home and they provide a great one. If you have not come across them yet they are a great local resource worth knowing about.
The conversation today was exactly what these events are intended for. We got to chat about most of our whys, which is important. As providers looking for real collaboration and not just catchphrases, knowing the why gives insight into the person behind the business cards.
We had some great tangents. BDMs finding it very important that their names are associated with the right ethical and moral businesses if they are to share years of connections that have been gained from showing up and living those ethics. And as with most of us, so many people's why in this industry includes lived experience, in the first person, through family, or experiencing a need for improvement or a niche that didn't exist.
We spoke about some of the very real implications of changes in the industry, providers closing and the direct impact on participants, their funding and their mental health.
How some providers understand and assist employees with upskilling and buddy shifts, and get that investing in and continuing the education of employees benefits participants and employees alike and can turn short term costs into long term sustainability and continuation of care.
Looking at the changing landscape of support coordination, what is likely happening, what might be happening, and some hopes and dreams for how it might look. A hope of a mix of the good old days and something better.
Real collaboration too. Providers supporting other providers, sharing ideas, building pathways. A TAE to assist more than one provider across multiple businesses doesn't just save time and money, it might be a multifaceted survival tool in this changing NDIS landscape.
We spoke about much more and so much will wiggle around in my mind for a while, including some ideas I can use to improve the way I integrate the things I do with clients.
So many good conversations. Possibly because we accidentally went over by an hour. Whoopsie.
