We Did It — The Gym Trailer Is Here!
After a few trials, tribulations and a whole lot of persistence, Slim Gym has finally done it — our custom mobile gym trailer is registered and ready to roll! This has been a long-term goal, and now it’s real. Soon you’ll see the Slim Gym trailer popping up at community centres, carparks and parks across the Gold Coast and Logan Shire.
What Makes It So Good?
This trailer is no ordinary setup. It has 12 training stations that can be used at once (plus extra gear that works off the trailer), which means we can keep things varied and tailored. I usually run smaller groups so everyone gets the right level — from Level 1 to Level 3 or 24 for the hardcore — but the flexibility means everyone can train together at their own pace.
Beyond variety, there’s something powerful about the sensory feedback of lifting weights. Our park sessions are awesome for games, circuits and movement, but adding real load introduces a new element — that deep body awareness some of our autistic participants benefit from. The mechanical movement and added resistance help improve form, proprioception and coordination while boosting confidence through tangible strength.
No Memberships, No Stress — Just Fun and Friends
One of the best parts? No gym membership needed. We bring the gym to you.But honestly, most of my crew don’t come back because of my form corrections (as much as I’d love to take credit 😂). They come for the fun and the friends.
With a high percentage of our community being autistic — and myself late-diagnosed — I know how important it is to have a safe, social, welcoming environment. Slim Gym isn’t about reps and sets; it’s about connection, laughter and those little wins that make life brighter.
Pricing
NDIS invoicing is available for all disability-specific sessions.
Group Sessions – $25 per person
Small, supportive groups (usually under 5 participants). This flat rate includes all face-to-face time, non–face-to–face work, admin, and local travel. I generally encourage groups where possible as they tick more goals, build confidence, and keep costs lower.
1:1 Support – $79 flat rate
(Same price for NDIS and non-NDIS)
Includes personalised training, all non–face-to-face work, and local travel.
Mixed Community Sessions (Disability + Non-Disability)
If there’s interest, I’d love to run an open community group where young people of all abilities can train together and build empathy through shared experiences. These sessions do not offer NDIS invoicing and will be open to a larger group size. Participants with disabilities may attend with their own supports or independently if suitable. (these will be open to all ages and enough interest seperate age appropriate groups can be created)
Bridging the Gap Between Clinical and Play
As an Allied Health Assistant, I can take the trailer directly to participants’ doors. That means if you’re already seeing a physio or exercise physiologist, I can support your homework exercises as part of your plan — especially helpful for those in SILs, post-injury rehab, or with anxiety or agoraphobia who find public gyms tough.
This bridges the gap between clinical goals and playful engagement — and potentially saves funds by combining therapy homework into inclusive group sessions.
At Slim Gym, “fun” isn’t a buzzword — it’s a strategy. When we make exercise enjoyable, the dopamine, serotonin, endorphins (and even a bit of sunshine) kick in, helping motivation, mental health and social confidence. Fun builds consistency, and consistency builds progress. (And lifting some weights so you can hit the ball further in our games sessions to kick some butt)
Inclusive Fitness for All Abilities
The trailer opens doors for:
🧩 People with disabilities wanting accessible group training
🏠 Participants in SIL or STA homes seeking social, on-site sessions
💪 People recovering from injury needing flexible rehab support
🌞 Anyone wanting to train outside and make genuine friends
Imagine setting up a session at “Jane’s House” where a few neighbours and mates join in — no pressure, just movement, laughter and connection. That’s what this trailer is all about.
We’re Looking for Partners and Places to Park
We’re now taking Expressions of Interest for:
SIL providers who’d love regular trailer sessions
Community centres or hubs with weekday space
Sporting clubs happy to host inclusive training
Anyone with a spot in Gold Coast or Logan keen to get involved
Whether you’re a participant, parent, or support coordinator — if you’d love to meet some new mates and get outside in your local area, we’d love to hear from you too.
If you’d like the trailer to visit your area or you have a location idea, jump onto our Waitlist / EOI Form.
The Heart of Slim Gym
When parents or support workers tell me, “You’re just natural with him,” I used to wonder what the secret was. Turns out, it’s simply being on the same wavelength — listening, caring, and making it okay to be yourself. That’s what Slim Gym stands for.
The trailer is the next evolution of that idea — fitness that moves to you, meets you where you’re at, and makes it fun.
